The football World Cup is being contested in Russia during the months of June and July. With Croatia participating in Group D, it is sure to be a point of interest to the locals while you enjoy your Croatian villa holiday. The Croatian team will start with three group games before they will hopefully progress to the knockout stage.
Saturday 16th June – Croatia Vs Nigeria – 8 pm KO
Croatia opens their Group D games in the 35,000 capacity, Kalimimgrad Stadium. Statistics favour the Croatian side who will be looking to start with a win to boost their chances of progressing.
Thursday 21st June – Croatia Vs Argentina – 7 pm KO
Arguably Croatia’s hardest group game comes against the Argentinians in their second game. The Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, which was purpose-built for the tournament, plays host to this in front of a capacity just below 45,000.
Tuesday 26th June – Croatia Vs Iceland – 7pm KO
In their final Group D fixture, Iceland are the opposition. Progression to the knockout stages may depend on a good result in this game to be played in the brand new Rostov Arena before a crowd of 45,000.
All these games and more from Russia are sure to be on display throughout the streets of Croatia’s top tourist destinations. Not a football fanatic? Not to worry, we still have a range of attractions to tempt you with.
Following on from the great success of last years inaugural event, Pop Up Summer Garden in Zagreb, brings a culmination of summer themed refreshment and entertainment designed to appeal to both locals and visiting tourists alike. On display, there will be an array of music, events and creative art, as well as a diverse selection of tasty food and drinks. Visitors can expect to view the performances of numerous artists & acoustic bands featuring a vast range of genres; a varied programme of films; plus activities including workshops, themed weeks, special guest appearances and other interesting events.
